New Government - New aspirations

Well the Indian elections are over and the so called Maa-Bete ka Sarkar (Government of Mother and Son) swept away by Moditva and Modi wave. This is reminiscent of another time same country around 40 years back. A similar Maa-Bete ka Sarkar (of Indira and Sanjay Gandhi) was swept away by the Janata wave in 1977. If you look at the similarities further the same Garibi Hatao slogan of Indira Gandhi of 1972 was revived in 2009 by the current form of Congress (it was Congress - I then). Looks like history repeats itself. However, hopefully the current government which has a excellent majority will not fritter away the opportunity like the Janata experiment in 1977. Very few of that era are still around like Mr Advani who was a minister in Janata government then. We cannot count on AB Vajpayee who has retired from politics. Another development is the debut of Aam Admi Party on the national level albeit with only 4 MPs. But remember even BJP had only 2 MPs in 1984. May be we expect somethin...

Coming to the talk of Chhote Sardar, what happened to the real sardar (Vallabhai Patel) now a days whom the great Chhote Sardar invoked frequently at the beginning of his canvassing. Believe the name was invoked only once during the last one month in Hyderabad (because the original sardar played a role in annexation of Nizam's kingdom). Even in his interviews to TV channels one can see only a statue of Swami Vivekananda on his table. Seems th...
