Image
With Bihar Assembly elections in the month of October and Prime Minister’s Visit to USA to attend UN General Assembly and meet CEOs of Silicon valley companies for investments in India, nothing much happened domestically. Many of the ministers of Ruling Party BJP are camping in Bihar for campaign with each of them camping there for at least 2-3 days and one Public Holiday in the middle of the week, this week can be taken as rather dull. As per the figures released by the Reserve Bank of India, Corporate India’s foreign borrowings increased by around 48% in the month of August 2015 compared to same month previous year. This is by both automatic approval route as well as External Commercial Borrowings. The borrowings in August 2016 stood at USD 750.76 Million in August 2015 compared to USD 507.40 Million in August 2014. The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has notified norms that allow banks to upgrade credit facilities extended to borrowing entities upon a change in ownership, so long ...

African Safari - Equator Line, Sipi and Sisiye waterfalls

Image
Few people know that Equator passes through Uganda. I have put up a picture of a small indicator showing the location of Equator line in Uganda. Similarly, there are two good but lesser known waterfalls in Uganda which are Sipi and Sisiye falls. Uploading photos of the same. Lake Victora is one of the Great Lakes of Africa which is in the midst of Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania. In fact, the runway at Entebbe international airport in Uganda is by the side of the Lake. Recently a Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Balaji was constructed on a hill adjoining the lake.

African Safari - Murchison Falls

Image
Murchison Falls is a famous african safari park in Uganda. Located around 300 - 350 KM from the capital city Kampala, the safari is accessible by a good road. one can take the car into the park and can move around the safari in a town car also though a four wheel drive is more preferable. The Albert Nile flows through the park and there is a cruise almost upto the rapids / water falls. The is a large variety of wild life like Lion, Giraffe, Elephants, Hippos to smaller animals. I have taken some photos though I lost more because of the bad quality and low battery charge of my mobile.

Padavali and Bateswar - Images of reemerging long forgotten past

Image
Around 35 km from Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh there is a village named Padavali around which ruins of some temples were discovered around 5-6 years ago. These group of temples are known as Bateswar group of temples which are temples dedicated to Lord Shiva. Just before the turnoff to Bateswar, there is a small fort known as Ghadi with a dancing hall / hall of ceremonies with exquisite carvings.

Mitavali - A temple which inspired the design of Indian Parliament

Image
The Shiva Temple at Mitavali, located around 35 - 40 km from Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh has an incredible design. This is a 500 year old temple but very little is known about this beyond the state of Madhya Pradesh. The temple is situated on a Hill with a small village at the foot of the hill. The steps to the temples were carved out of the hill. The temple architecture is totally different from any other temple in India. In fact the design of Indian Parliament is based on this temple.
